PTI magazine 3/2016 is out!
Countries need to better support lasting economic growth and social inclusion within our world’s ever growing cities. This is the message of this month’s World Summit of Local and Regional Leaders in Bogota, Columbia, the United Nations Habitat III conference in Quito, Ecuador, and also the theme of the latest issue of Public Transport International (PTI).
The magazine focuses on key nationally supported public transport projects that allow cities to function more efficiently, including urban renewal projects linked to bus transport, economic stimulus projects that better integrate transport networks within multiple cities, and how creating new public authorities can manage growing transport needs within an entire country.
Additionally, PTI magazine also touches on topics such as the public transport renaissance in North America, the viable use of cable cars as urban transport, and how public transport projects can contribute to a country’s carbon reduction goals.
UITP members and subscribers will receive the magazine in a few weeks. In the meantime, we’re giving you a sneak-peek with the two free articles below – available in different languages. Enjoy your reading!
- Keeping things on the move: making cities more liveable (EN, DE, ES, FR)
- Cable cars: moving onwards and upwards (EN, DE, ES, FR)
